Die "BronxBerlinConnection" ist mehr als ein Jugendaustausch.

Die sozialen Umstände in Berliner Kiezen sind nicht vergleichbar mit amerikanischen Inner-Cities, es gibt jedoch Parallelen: Wachsende Armut, keine adäquaten Ausbildungsplätze und die damit einhergehende Perspektivlosigkeit. Doch viele junge Menschen haben sich Hip Hop Kultur als Medium ausgesucht, um ihren Frust lauthals kundzugeben. Die Berlin Bronx Connection ermöglicht Berliner jugendlichen Hip Hop-ern New York und die Bronx, die Entstehungsstätte der Hip Hop Kultur, zu entdecken. Während einem vollen 10-tägigen Programm in New York werden sie überwältigt und kehren mit ganz neuen Erfahrungen und Perspektiven in ihre Berliner Kieze zurück.
Der humorvolle, pfiffige Film „BronxBerlinConnection" nimmt den Zuschauer mit auf diese beeindruckende und nachhaltige Reise mit jungen Menschen, die aus verschiedenen Lebenswelten aufeinander treffen, um voneinander und miteinander zu lernen. Sie tauschen sich künstlerisch aus, entwickeln neue Perspektiven und überdenken somit eigene Lebensinhalte. Hip Hop als Zugangsmethode, Plattform für Diskussionen und alternative Bildungsmethode. "The BronxBerlinConnection" is more than a Youth Exchange Program.

Living conditions in Berlin communities can't adequately be compared to those in American inner cities. There are however, similarities. Increasing levels of poverty, poor employment or educational opportunities and a lot of young people who have chosen Hip Hop culture to vent and talk about their frustrations and anger.
The BronxBerlinConnection gives young Berlin Hip Hop artists a chance to discover New York and the Boogiedown Bronx (birthplace of Hip Hop) in particular. During a packed 10-day itinerary in New York they are being overwhelmed and return to their Berlin neighborhoods with totally new impressions and experiences.
The humorous and clever film „BronxBerlinConnection 2011" takes the audience on a journey along with young people from different backgrounds and living conditions meeting one another in order to learn with and from each other. They exchange artistically, develop new perspectives and in the process rethink and/or evaluate their own life's content.
